Experience the natural beauty of the Rio Grande Valley through plein air painting with local artist Jose Lozano. Born in Matamoros, Mexico, and trained at UTRGV and the New York Academy of Art, Jose brings a unique blend of abstract expressionism and impressionism to his work, capturing the vibrant energy of landscapes and wildlife. 

In this hands-on workshop, participants will paint on location at the Sabal Palm Sanctuary, exploring techniques for observing and translating the colors, light, and movement of birds and their habitats onto canvas. Jose will share insights from his artistic journey, guiding attendees in composition, perspective, and creative expression, while encouraging a deep connection to the natural world.
