Explore the intricate connections between nature, ecosystems, and the human spirit through the meditative art of papercutting with Eva Ryan. A local paper artist and Master Naturalist, Eva creates works that celebrate the cycles of life—growth, decay, and renewal—and the deep interconnection between all living things.

In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn the techniques of papercutting while reflecting on the relationships between themselves, the natural world, and the birds and landscapes of the Rio Grande Valley. Eva emphasizes how art can be both a form of creative expression and a mindful, restorative practice, encouraging participants to find their own artistic rituals to connect with the world around them.

Discover how precision, patience, and reflection can transform simple paper into intricate landscapes and ecosystems—reminding us that we are part of the living tapestry of the Earth.
